Sample: Announcing Bandwidth Express

NightFire Software wanted customers to know that its new product Bandwidth Express would expand their markets with no disruption at all to current operations.

BandwidthExpress.com Doubles its DSL Service Providers

BellSouth and Verizon joined Pacific Bell and Ameritech on the BandwidthExpress.com team in July&emdash;without so much as a murmur of disruption for channel partners.

BellSouth serves the Southeast region of the U.S. Verizon, formed by the recent merger of Bell Atlantic and GTE, serves the Northeast. Pacific Bell serves California and Nevada, and Ameritech serves Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.

“Channel partners can now offer customers access to a vastly wider service area without changing any code,” said Gregg Cooper, product marketing manager for BandwidthExpress.com.

BandwidthExpress.com’s hosted DSL ordering platform showed its value in the change: NightFire added the new functionality and improved reach of the service immediately and transparently across all channel partners.

Such ease resulted from leveraging the long and successful relationships that NightFire has cultivated with the leading DSL service providers. NightFire takes on all of the complexity inherent in the prequalification and ordering process:

NightFire systems know which central offices (COs) are equipped with the hardware that enables DSL, and can determine the distance between any particular address in the U.S. and the nearest CO to a high degree of accuracy.

NightFire then combines that information with the rules that each service provider places on loop length (the length of the copper wire that connects the telephones in a home or business to the CO) to determine which services are available.

Ability to change quickly is critical

In the broadband Internet industry, the only constant is change. Offers of DSL services evolve quickly as suppliers respond to competition from other technologies and derive benefit from economies of scale.

At the same time, many of the largest DSL service providers are also subject to heavy regulation. Often, regulatory approval of new pricing and service offerings comes literally at the eleventh hour.

BandwidthExpress.com prepares for new pricing before it goes into effect by working closely with service providers. NightFire makes the changes globally, propagating new information into every channel partner’s site. When the DSL marketplace changes, BandwidthExpress.com channel partners are ready for it.

The recent additions of BellSouth and Verizon Online are just two more steps in BandwidthExpress.com’s rapid emergence as a nationwide DSL enabler. In the coming months it will continue to add providers, making the services offered by NightFire’s channel partners the most comprehensive, up to date, and accurate in the industry.
